This activity is a review and re-assessment in light of any project or organizational changes and evolutions. Because the project itself should be monitoring risks, this assessment should focus on the change management (adoption) targets and expectations.
A live or virtual meeting following a common risk assessment format is fine.
Review Moves are essentially the same as assessment Moves. The distinction is that the review will be a periodic effort to ensure external forces—including changes to the underlying project—are being accounted for and adjustments are being made. Reviews are generally all the same except for the detail of what’s being reviewed.
Initial risk assessments provided situational awareness for the change management program’s success, incorporating risks into the underlying solution deployment/success. This activity is a review and re-assessment in light of any project or organizational changes and evolutions. Because the project itself should be monitoring risks, this assessment focuses on the change management (adoption) targets and expectations. Begin with resistance and risks to overcoming it. Give attention to any changes to line management, employees, and organizational emphasis (emerging priorities, emergencies, and so forth) that have or are currently occurring.
Obviously, responses to address risks should also be refined.
Repeat this Move regularly, or at least as frequently as conditions warrant.
