Review/update performance metrics (repeats)

Like all other review Moves, this action is to revisit and affirm previous performance measures by which the change will be gauged, both for the underlying deployment's effect and the change management itself. The review can evaluate progress on practical work as well, if there has been any.

Format

The most effective approach is usually a workshop to: refine performance metrics based on changes to the implementation itself or to constraints of data collection and reporting; finalize the metrics to be used; and confirm availability and accessibility of the data needed. The project manager represents the desired (solution) metrics while Performance Management represents the feasibility and work required to deliver on the metrics. For the change management metrics specifically, the change manager remains primarily responsible.

Description

Like all other review Moves, this action is to revisit and affirm previous performance measures by which the change will be gauged, both for the underlying deployment’s effect and the change management itself. The review can evaluate progress on practical work as well, if there has been any.

If collection of data, creation of metrics, or reporting will depend on a manual-to-automated workflow path—particularly if underlying technology has to be put in place or changed, this is an appropriate time to make that part of the plan through a significant enhancement. Also, it is the time to confirm who would receive what kind of performance information on what cycle. This can and should be revisited or at least validated later, but should be initiated now.
